4XPRO Rear CV Axle for the Polaris General 1000 and RZR S 1000: Fully Assembled for $129

A rear axle rarely fails politely. It either lets go under load with a bang you feel through the seat, or it starts as a torn boot you meant to deal with, and three rides later the joint is full of grit and clicking on every turn. Either way the machine is on the trailer and you are pricing axles with your phone in the barn. The 4XPRO Rear CV Axle for the Polaris General 1000, RZR S 1000 and RZR 900 is the unglamorous answer at $129.00.

What you are actually buying

4XPRO describes this as a heavy-duty replacement rear CV axle built for hard trail, mud and work use. The detail that matters for a Saturday repair is how it arrives: it is fully assembled with inboard and outboard CV joints and neoprene boots, so it installs straight out of the box.

That sounds obvious until you have bought the other kind. A bare shaft, or a joint you have to pack and boot yourself, turns a two-hour job into a messy afternoon with a grease gun and a boot clamp tool you cannot find. A complete axle goes in the way the old one came out.

Fitment

  • 2015-2025 Polaris RZR 900, 4x4, 60-inch
  • 2016-2022 and 2024-2026 Polaris General 1000, 4x4, 60-inch
  • 2016-2026 Polaris RZR S 1000, 4x4, 60-inch

Two things to note there. The 60-inch width in every line is the real filter — these are the narrower trail machines, not the 64-inch XP cars, and width is what decides which axle you need. And the General 1000 listing skips 2023, which is the kind of gap worth catching before you order rather than after. Check the year, the model and the width on your own machine, not the one your buddy has.

Who it is for

This is a repair part, and that is the point. If you have a torn boot, a clicking joint, or an axle you grenaded on a rock, you need a good one at a sane price, not a boutique part with a lead time. At $129 it is also realistic to buy the axle you need now and keep the old one as a core or a trail spare, which is what plenty of General and RZR S owners end up doing.

It is also the right call if you are running an aggressive tire and have been getting away with stock axles. Taller, heavier tires put more leverage on every CV joint in the machine, and the rears on a 60-inch car take a beating in mud where the tire hooks up and the suspension is at full droop.

If you are on a 64-inch machine, or you have added a lift that puts your CV angles well past stock, look at the fitment list and your geometry first. The best axle in the world will not survive an angle it was never meant to run.
