A Yamaha Viking earns its keep in the months when nothing else wants to start. Feeding in January, checking a line of gates, plowing a lane out to the road — the Viking goes, and you go with it, hands on a cold wheel and a windshield that fogs the second you breathe on it. A cab enclosure helps with the wind. It does nothing about the cold, and nothing at all about the ice on the inside of the glass. The Moto Alliance FIRESTORM UTV Cab Heater for the 2017-2026 Yamaha Viking fixes both, and it is $399.99.
Where the heat actually comes from
The Firestorm does not burn anything and does not lean on your charging system for warmth. It takes heat the engine is already making and currently throwing away. Coolant routes out of the Viking's cooling system through a highly efficient heat exchanger capable of up to 18,000 BTU from your radiator at 0-125 CFM, and a fan moves that heat into the cab. The engine makes it whether you use it or not — this kit just stops wasting it.
There is also a built-in shutoff valve, which matters more than it sounds like it should. In October you want heat. In June you want that coolant going nowhere near the cab, and you want to shut it off without pulling hoses apart to do it.
Built for the Viking, not adapted to it
Universal heater kits are a box of parts and an afternoon of guessing. This is not one. Moto Alliance supplies custom installation brackets and hose lengths specific to your Yamaha Viking, which is the difference between hose routed where the factory would have run it and hose zip-tied across the engine bay at whatever length the kit happened to ship in.
The payoff is a custom OEM look with no visible heater core. Inside the cab you get dedicated driver and passenger vents, adjustable heat and fan speed through 360-degree vents so you can actually aim it, and two defrost vents to keep the windshield clear of snow and ice. The defrost vents are the part people underrate right up until the first morning they can see out without wiping the glass with a glove.

Who it is for
Anyone who still has work to do after the first hard frost. The Firestorm kit turns a Viking from a machine you dread getting into between November and March into one you take instead of the truck, which is the whole reason you bought a side-by-side with a roof over it.
Worth knowing who builds it: Moto Alliance states that Firestorm heaters are engineered by Motoalliance, were first to market nearly 10 years ago, and carry a fully registered USPTO trademark, that all instructions are written in English by American engineers who install the original prototypes themselves, and that they are available for tech questions before, during and after the purchase. If you have ever fought a heater install off a sheet of badly translated instructions, you understand exactly why those lines are in the listing.
Plan on a full afternoon either way. You are opening the cooling system, running hose, cutting vent holes and finding a home for the switch. Do it in the shop in October, not in the driveway in January.
