The Polaris General was built to work and play, and the front suspension is where that compromise shows up first. Factory A-arms sit low, tire clearance is whatever Polaris left you, and the first time you drop a front wheel into a washed-out rut you find out exactly where the lower arm wants to catch. The SuperATV Polaris General XP 1000 High Clearance 1.5" Forward Offset A-Arms go after both problems with one set of parts: the arms are bent up out of the way and the wheels are pushed forward, so you gain ground clearance and tire room at the same time.
The bends and the offset do two different jobs
It is easy to lump these together, but they are separate changes with separate payoffs:
- High-clearance bends — the arms carry a 1.5-inch high-clearance bend, which is what lets you cruise over obstacles that used to hang up a stock arm.
- Forward offset — the 1.5-inch forward offset boosts stability and opens up tire clearance, with room for 33-inch tires.
SuperATV is direct about what the design is for: forward offset to create room for larger tires, high-clearance bends to help you clear trail obstacles, oversized steel tubing that is stronger than stock, and a vehicle-specific fit rather than a universal arm you have to persuade into place.
Built heavier than the arms you are taking off
Clearance is no good if the arm folds the first time you find a stump. These use 1.5-inch diameter tubing that is 25% larger than stock, finished in a UV-resistant powder coating so the first season in the sun does not chalk them out. SuperATV backs them with a lifetime A-arm warranty, which is about as direct a statement of confidence as a suspension company makes.
Adjustable pivot blocks
The pivot blocks are adjustable, and they ship preadjusted to stock specs, so a straight bolt-on install needs nothing extra from you. The reason they adjust matters later: add a lift, or hang a few hundred pounds of accessories and gear on the machine, and you can dial camber back to where it belongs. Proper camber is not a cosmetic detail — SuperATV points out it is what gives you better control and longer-lasting components, and anyone who has worn out a set of bearings on a crooked machine already knows it.
What is in the kit
- Upper and lower A-arms
- Complete heavy-duty tie rod kit
- Steering stop kit
- All hardware and access to instructions
The tie rod kit is not an upsell, it is a requirement — the extra offset asks more of the steering, so SuperATV includes a heavy-duty swaged tie rod kit with chromoly tie rod ends for end-to-end durability. The steering stop kit is in the box for the same reason.
Decide on ball joints before you check out
Read this part before you order. If you do not select a pre-installed ball joint at checkout, you must re-use your stock ball joints. Buy a set of SuperATV ball joints along with the A-arms and SuperATV installs them for you for free, which saves you a press and an evening. The options, in SuperATV's own terms:
- Standard Duty — hardened chromoly steel studs and housings, zinc plated, as strong as or stronger than stock.
- Heavy Duty — hardened 4340 VAR steel with zinc plating, accessible grease zerks and an adjustable design; lab and field testing shows it withstands double the pressure of an OEM ball joint.
- Super Duty 300M — 300M grade steel with a grease zerk and an adjustable steel-on-steel design, 2.25x stronger than stock.
- Keller — a two-piece design that eliminates the snap ring and threads onto the A-arm like a nut and bolt, with a chromoly steel stud in a tool-steel body; greaseable and rebuildable.
Fitment
- Polaris General XP 1000: 2020+
- Polaris General XP 4 1000: 2020+
One warning worth repeating: these are not compatible with the OEM swaybar on 2021+ models. Know which side of that line your machine falls on before the freight shows up.
