Big tires and a lift make a Can-Am Maverick X3 look right, and they also wear out the factory rack and pinion in a hurry. Once the rack develops play, the steering wanders, the wheel shakes over chatter, and every rut tries to pull the machine sideways. The SuperATV RackBoss 2.0 Rack and Pinion for the Can-Am Maverick X3 is the fix, and it's built to stay tight long after the OEM rack would have given up.
X24 dual-bushing technology
The RackBoss 2.0 is a stronger, smarter version of the original RackBoss, and SuperATV says it cuts wear by over 50%. The key is X24 dual-bushing technology: two heavy-duty PTFE bushings keep the rack gear and the tension spring nearly motionless, which eliminates the internal play that makes a worn rack feel loose. Where the rack meets the tie rods, the flag is supported by three cam follower bearings that reduce wear and torsion. Two built-in grease fittings keep everything moving smoothly.
Three tie rod options
The RackBoss 2.0 ships with your choice of tie rods, and the right pick depends on how you ride:
- Swaged steel tube tie rods with heim joints, 14mm rod threads and 16mm rack threads. A solid upgrade for trail machines.
- Solid 1-inch steel bar tie rods with 3/4-inch outer heims and rebuildable inner tie rods. The choice for rock crawling and big tires.
- Polished 6061 billet aluminum hex tie rods with 3/4-inch rod threads. Strong, light, and they look the part.
Every configuration is greasable and includes inner boots, a steering stop kit, misalignment bushings, tie rod studs, and hardware.
Fitment
This rack fits the 2017–2021 Can-Am Maverick X3 in both 64-inch and 72-inch widths, two-seat and MAX. Confirm your year on the product page, and browse the rest of our Maverick X3 parts for A-arms, axles, and the portal gear lift that pairs with it.
Who needs it
SuperATV built the RackBoss 2.0 for X3 owners running suspension upgrades, big tires, or simply riding hard. If you've already got a lift or 32s on your X3, the stock rack is living on borrowed time, and restoring steering precision changes how the whole machine feels.
